The Westerville Titans behind strong pitching and timely hitting beat the Hebron Renegades 2 games to none to win their 1st Central Ohio MABL Championship. Game #1- Titans 9 Renegades 3 Carter Garnon pitched nine strong innings for the Titans allowing three runs on six hits. Garnon struckout 15 (in three starts during the postseason Garnon struckout a total of 42 batters) while giving up 5 walks. The Titans offense was led by Scott Tourville (3-4, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R, SB), Dustin Sauer (2-4, 2 R, 3 SB) and Carter Garnon (1-2, 2 RBI, R, BB, HBP). Game #2- Titans 8 Renegades 2 Gerry Tulga got the ball for the Titans in Game 2 and was equally strong on the mound pitching nine innings allowing two runs on five hits. Tulga struckout 12 against only four walks. The Titans offense was led by Brandon Deford (2-4, 2 RBI R) and Chris Kahler (1-2, 3 RBI, R, BB) Congratulations to the Titans on winning the 2008 Central Ohio MABL Championship. The Central Ohio MABL will hold a Fall wood bat league beginning on Sunday, September 14. There are 6 confirmed teams participating. Players who are interested but do not yet have a team should attend the workout/draft on Sunday, September 7 at the Westerville Golf Center at 4PM. Teams will pick-up players to fill out their fall team. Cost is $100.00 per player (based on team roster of 14) for the 8 game fall schedule.
