New players need to fill out survey for the Draft Eligible List (google doc). New players will be sent an email about the league workouts for new players. Those new players need to RSVP for the league workouts.
The actual draft will be held the night of April 6, 2025. New players drafted to a team will be contacted directly by the team who drafted player. Draft results will be posted on the website.
As a new player looking to play Baseball, I've invited you to fill out a detailed survey in an effort to share with teams in the Central Ohio MABL who may be looking to add players to their roster.
A team or teams may reach out to you directly, inviting you to one of their team workouts over the next few weeks (prior to the league draft). You are encouraged to attend these workouts. The League has two workouts for new players on the schedule.
The Central Ohio MABL will hold a new player draft. Once the draft is completed, players will be contacted and information posted on the league website.
While not yet finalized, the framework for the 2025 Schedule* has been completed. Each team will be scheduled 21 regular season games. Those scheduled games will consist of eleven single game Sundays and five DH Sundays with Opening Day May 4, 2025. Due to weather or other issues that may cancel single games, those single games could be scheduled as part of a DH later in the season.
The schedule* will consist of the top 6 teams (from 2024) playing two games vs. MSBL teams and the bottom 4 teams (from 2024) playing one game vs. MSBL (and each of the four teams playing one additional game vs. other team only playing one MSBL game). MSBL requested only to play 16 total games during this year's President's Cup.
The 21st game will be a game against the Central Ohio MABL matchups TBD. This single game may be based on overall standings as of a certain date ie. 1v2, 3v4, 5v6, 7v8, 9v10 or N1vA1, N2vA2, N3vA3, N4vA4, N5vA5 or blind draw.
I had sought to schedule Central Ohio MABL teams play one game vs. the Ohio Independent College League, however only two of eight college teams were interested.
