Congratulations to the players of the Central Ohio MABL who beat the MSBL in the 9th annual inter-league All-Star game last Saturday. The final score was 7-6. The games was back in forth, with the MSBL jumping out in front with a run in the top of the second. The MABL responded with a run in the 3rd, as Jon Rist (Bobcats) singled, and scored courtesy of errors by the second and third basemen. The MSBL took the lead again in the top of the 4th but in the bottom half, Matt Eader (Bison) and Christian Pantoja (Sharks) walked, Mark Trace (Indians) singled home Eader, and Chuck Fought (Bears) doubled in Pantoja. The MSBL scored a run in the top of the 5th to tie the game, but once again, the MABL responded in the bottom half. Ty Carroll (Indians) led off by getting hit with a pitch, Tom Harmon (Bison) followed by reaching on an error by the Shortstop, and Adrian Riley (Black Sox) singled to load the bases. A passed ball scored Carroll, and MVP Charles Washington (Barracudas) doubled in Harmon and pinch-runner Jamie Holdren (Bison) to plate the 2nd and 3rd runs, giving the MABL a 6-3 lead. The MABL tacked on one more in the 6th, as Pantoja reached on an error by the leftfielder, Trace reached on error by the second baseman, and after Aaron Hall (Bison) hit into a fielder's choice, Chuck Fought reached on another error by the leftfielder, scoring Pantoja. The lead seemed safe until the top of the 8th, when the MSBL scored 3 runs to get within one. But MABL veteran Greg Weaver (Sharks) worked out of a second and third situation in the top of the 9th to earn the save and preserve the win for the MABL. Dan McGinnis (3 IP, 2 runs, 3 hits, 2 k's) Andrew Karpowicz (WIN, 3 IP, run, hit, 3 k's) Michael Werner (1 IP, 1 k) Chad Moore (1 IP, 3 runs, 3 k's) Greg Weaver (SAVE, 1 IP, 1 hit) Charles Washington (Barracudas) was named MVP for the Central Ohio MABL
