2003 will go down as the first year in several where all teams that were scheduled to play actually played. Congratulations to the teams who opened the season with a \"W\". Week # 2 is a double-header for all teams. Good Luck to all teams as we try for two weekends in a row without rain!!!!
The 2003 Schedule has been released. Games will continue to be entered into the web-site over the next couple of days.
Opening Day is Saturday, April 26, 2003 at Beaver\'s Field in Lancaster, Ohio. At high noon the Spitballers will face the Indians to kick off the eighth season of the Central Ohio MABL. The Spitballers have been in the league since 1996 and continue to be a top team in the league, with a core group who have played together for many years. The Indians joined the league in 2000 and have been very successful through their first three years. After the opening game stick around and watch the Sharks take on the Bulls at 3:00 PM. The Sharks are starting their third season in the league and made some off season additions that will make them much improved. After several years finishing in the middle of the league standings the Bulls (old Catfish) are under new management and look forward to a breakthrough season. Since your at Beaver\'s Field anyway, you might as well stay and watch the 6:00 PM nightcap as the Central Ohio MABL Defending Champion Bison All-Star Baseball Club take on the Bullets (old Bandits) in a rematch of last year\'s championship game. The Bison have added more firepower to their offense, and have added another arm to the rotation. The Bullets (Bandits) have won the title twice (00,01) and that title was taken away by the Bison in 02. The only thing different with the Bullets is the name change. They will be a contender for a fourth straight year, and they just might be better than in years past.
These three games should be quite competitive and exciting. Good luck to all teams as the season is finally upon us.
See you at the Ball Park and remember Don\'t go Soft... PLAY HARDBALL!!!
